VOLUNTEER AND HELP BRIGHTEN A LIFE!
Volunteers are the driving force behind Brighten A Life’s projects. Volunteers are drawn from the local community, universities, civic groups and sponsoring organizations. Our volunteer base ranges in profession and age. Many volunteers are general contractors, project managers, architects, plumbers, and technicians. Professionals will work hand-in-hand with general community volunteers while building, painting, furnishing and finalizing details for each project.

DONE-IN-ONE & DONE-BY-ONE

The Green Schoolhouse Series adheres to the Done-In-One signature, a unique initiative to ensure that all Green Schoolhouse projects are built in just one week. In the short time, volunteers will provide a tangible gift that schools will utilize and enjoy for many years to come.

 

Done-By-One is a project initiative implemented primarily to painting and repairs of homes during the Together We Paint projects. Done-By-One's goal is to have volunteer duties completed by 1:00pm so volunteers can maximize their time and remain energized for the remainder of the day.

 

These initiatives are designed to create a high-energy platform and maximize the value of our volunteer’s time.

 

VOLUNTEER BENEFITS

We recognize that our volunteers’ time is valuable and therefore work to make the experience as positive as possible. We provide all materials for volunteers on project day. Water, coffee, drinks and meals are supplied on-site. Additionally, our supplies are eco-friendly, as well as non-toxic to ensure our volunteers’ health and well-being. Volunteer contributions are celebrated at an annual Volunteer Appreciation Party where volunteers receive awards, scholarships, and prizes.
